Tap In Academy ("we," "us," "our") is operated by TAP IN ACADEMY LTD / NI735521. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights. It covers our website and courses, our Instagram account, and our Pricing For Profit mobile app (see section 4).
1. What we collect
- Account and purchase information: name, email address, and payment details when you purchase a course or digital download. Payment processing is handled by Stripe and Thinkific directly — we do not store your card details ourselves.
- Email marketing information: your name and email address if you sign up for a free guide, newsletter, or lead magnet, via MailerLite.
- Social media interactions: if you comment on or message our Instagram account (@tapin.academy), we may process your Instagram username, comment text, and comment ID in order to respond — including via automated replies described below.
- Website usage data: standard analytics (pages visited, general location, device type) via Thinkific's built-in analytics and cookies.
- Pricing For Profit app data: see section 4.
2. How we use your information
- To deliver the products, courses, and free resources you request
- To send you marketing emails, if you've opted in — you can unsubscribe at any time
- To automatically respond to specific Instagram comments: when you comment a specific keyword on one of our posts (e.g. a word tied to a free guide or resource), our systems detect that comment and send you a private reply with the relevant link. This is a keyword-matching automation, not human review of your comment content beyond that match.
- To improve our products, content, and marketing based on aggregate usage patterns
3. Who we share information with
We use the following third-party services to run our business, each of which processes data on our behalf under their own privacy/security terms:
- Thinkific — course hosting, purchases, website
- Stripe — payment processing
- MailerLite — email marketing
- Meta / Instagram — social media hosting and messaging (comments, private replies)
- Zapier — automation connecting the above services
- Supabase — database storage and sign-in for our marketing/campaign operations and for the Pricing For Profit app
- Resend — email delivery, used by the Pricing For Profit app to send the quotes its users choose to email to their customers
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
4. Pricing For Profit mobile app
Pricing For Profit is a mobile app for trade and construction businesses to build quotes, track jobs and see their profit. This section applies to people who create an account in the app.
What we collect in the app
- Your name, email address and company name
- Your business information: business details, labour and overhead cost figures, quotes and jobs
- Details of your own customers that you choose to enter: names, email addresses, telephone numbers, addresses and notes
- Your subscription status. We never see or store your card details; payments are handled by our payment provider
We do not use analytics or advertising trackers in the app, and we do not sell or share app data for advertising.
How we use it: to run your account and keep it secure, to store the figures you enter, to manage your subscription, to send essential service emails (such as password resets), and to email a quote to your customer when you ask us to.
Your customers' data: the details of your customers that you enter are your data. We store and process them only on your behalf, to provide the app, and never for our own purposes. You are responsible for having a lawful basis to hold them and to email them quotes.
Deleting your account: you can delete your account at any time in the app (Settings > Account > Delete account). This permanently deletes your account and all your business data straight away and cancels any active subscription. Our payment provider may keep payment and billing records for as long as tax and accounting law requires. You can also email us at [email protected] and we will delete your account for you.
5. Data retention
We retain your information for as long as necessary to provide our services, comply with legal obligations (e.g. tax/accounting records), and resolve disputes. Email marketing data is retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion. Pricing For Profit app data is retained while your account is active and is deleted when you delete your account.
6. Your rights
If you are in the UK/EU, you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at [email protected]. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) if you believe your data has been mishandled.
7. Children's privacy
Our products and services, including the Pricing For Profit app, are intended for business owners and company directors and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date above.
